"Worker In Blackened Wood With Asian Decor, Napoleon III Period - Mid-19th Century"
Lacquered work table, in blackened wood decorated with Indochinese scenes, from the Napoleon III period. This worker ornamented with gilding forming landscapes, pagodas and figures, opens with a flap with a rich scene presenting the emperor in front of his court. This flap opens using a hook lock in working order. Inside, we discover a storage space made up of many boxes decorated with boxes and meticulously sculpted sewing accessories. The trapezoidal belt, also decorated with scenes of Asian life, has a sliding element in the lower part revealing a sewing basket dressed in a red draped fabric with a wooden bottom. The set rests on two lyre legs adorned with delicate flowers. They are connected by a crotch crosspiece and end with particularly becoming golden claw feet. We will appreciate the artistic delicacy enjoyed by this worker who has the particularity of being complete. ********* Period: Mid 19th century Very good condition.
