His letters are representative of the work of Pere Creixams whose artistic identity stems from his life between Catalonia and France, that is to say between Barcelona and the Montmartre hill. Per Creixams moved to Paris in 1917 and made his debut in illustration “la belle Édition” where he met Florent Fels who introduced him to all of Paris, A Salmon, B Cendrars, Max Jacob, he married Marie Lebourg in 1919 whom he calls “Madeleine”, he follows the advice of Othon Friesz and is influenced by Modigliani. He seizes the influence of his Spanish ancestors and of course of Picasso to create his style, enters the merchant Albert Guillaume in 1922 then in 1925 at Pierre Loeb until 1965; The Spanish Civil War will be the only break in 1937 where he will not return until 1948 to exhibit again in Barcelona. He will be the illustrator of "La Retirada" of his Spanish republican friends. He is famous for his worldly portraits.
