"18th Century Holy Water Bucket"
18th century holy water bucket. The tetramorph decoration represents: the four evangelists Saint Luke, Saint John, Saint Matthew and Saint Mark, recognizable by their symbols the angel, the eagle, the bull, and the lion, framing a Virgin and Child surrounded by two angels. Each scene is separated by round arches supported by columns with Corinthian capitals. In the upper part, a vegetated frieze underlines the neck of the bucket. The handle is of Gothic inspiration, held by two welded lion heads. The background has been filtered more recently, no doubt, to be able to present it. It has partially legible Latin inscriptions.
