Elegant Regency period chest of drawers in rosewood veneer, Opening with five drawers in three rows, Curved front, Upright and front decorated with brass fluting. Rich and beautiful adornment of original gilded bronzes hallmarked with the Crowned C. Topped with a thick royal red marble from Flanders molded in corbin's beak. Chest of drawers is in very good condition with a French polish. Parisian work from the beginning of the 18th century. Caption: Bronzes with crowned C: “We find this hallmark on certain bronzes, it attests to a tax on metals in force between 1745 and 1749. Its presence makes it possible to precisely date the production of a piece of furniture. The crowned C has also become a hallmark of quality for collectors, it only seems to have been engraved on the most refined bronzes.
