"Pair Of Mahogany Armchairs, Louis XVI Style / Directory - Early Nineteenth"
Pair of solid mahogany armchairs, with belts with knockout crosspieces. They rest on two tapered front legs, embellished with a shaped collar at the top. The upper part, turned into a vase, is extended by a shaped butt from which start two armrests, striated with flanges, joining the backrest. This one extends upwards, it is reversed towards the back, and ends in a rosette. The seats with good suspensions are made in the traditional way, with straps, springs and horsehair and are in good condition, as are the backrests. The whole is covered with a pale yellow silky fabric, with bamboo leaf patterns, fixed by small nails close together. The elegant line of these Directoire armchairs, refined, as well as their comfort, are interesting assets.
