Emile Loubet
Born December 30, 1838 in the Drôme and died December 20, 1929 in the Drôme, is a French statesman. He was President of the French Republic from February 18, 1899 to February 18, 1906. A lawyer by profession, he was elected deputy for Drôme in 1876. He was also Minister of Public Works and President of the Council, Minister of the Interior during the first Ribot government, then he becomes president of the Senate. In 1899 he was elected President of the Republic after the death of Félix Faure. His man said is marked by the Dreyfus Affair, the affair of the files, by the vote of the law of separation of the Churches and the State.
