"Property Pendulum In Bronze And Antique - Late Nineteenth"
Remarkable property clock in bronze with brown patina, dating from the end of the 19th century. It is surmounted by a tall bronze statue illustrating a woman from ancient Rome, dressed in peplos and wearing sandals. Her wavy hair, styled in a bun, is accessorized with a thin headband. An 'AD' signature, crowned with a small star, is engraved on the rear left corner of the sculpture. A second element, in the lower part, has a clock with a dial in sea green marble. It is accompanied on either side by a plate shaped from the same marble. On both ends of the clock as well as on the side walls, we find characters from Antiquity, in relief, dressed in period draped costumes. They engage in various recreational and enjoyable hobbies such as reading, theater and music. These subjects are subtly patinated, accentuating the details of their features and their clothes. It should be noted that the background on which these decorations are built constitutes an important part in bronze, 6 cm wide and 19 cm deep. This superb property set rests on a black plinth, with projections, surrounded by a beautiful pronounced molding. Marked with realism, elegance and poetry, this important clock will seduce you with its prestige and nobility. ******** Period: Late 19th century. In a perfect state.
