Oval mirror from around 1900, the mirror is of very high quality and has various gilding and silvering in its original state. Le Miroir has a label of its Provenence The JP Schneider jr art shop, run by the Andreas family since 1884, specializes in the trade of selected paintings, drawings and sculptures from the 19th century. Today, in the fifth generation, it remains true to a goal that began with Gottfried Andreas (*1859 - †1923). He transformed the craft company founded in 1824 as a framing and gilding workshop, known as far away as Constantinople for its figureheads, among others, into a contemporary art gallery. With the move to representative exhibition halls at Roßmarkt 23 in downtown Frankfurt in 1892, the foundation stone was laid for the start of lively exhibition activity. In the years that followed, personal exhibitions on contemporaries such as Max Lieberman n (1895) and Franz von Stuck (1898) as well as Hans Thoma (1895) were presented.
