La danse, bronze sculpture signed on the terrace DARBEFEUILLE and stamp Exposition Paris 1900 MD Gold Medal Paul DARBEFEUILLE was born October 5, 1852 and died October 27, 1933 in Toulouse is a French sculptor and painter, pupil of Pierre Jouffroy, Alexandre Falguière and Dr. Antonin Mercié. He mainly produced allegories. Bronze medal in 1900 for the Universal Exhibition. Gold medal in 1928. A street in Toulouse bears his name. One of his La folie statues is in the Louvre.
