It is signed lower left by Laurent MATTIO, painter born in Toulon in 1892 and died in 1965. referenced as painter of landscapes, seascapes. Post-Impressionist. He was a student of Cormon at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. he became a professor at that of Toulon. From 1919 to 1924, he exhibited in Paris, at the Salon of French Artists. he also exhibited in many cities in France. He executed several decorative panels for the theater and the chamber of commerce of Toulon. His luminous landscapes are treated in the good tradition of the Provençal impressionists.
