Typical 19th cty sailor's work made with the simplest raw materials that sailors could have on boat: wood, glass, shells, sea foam, porcelain, painted boiled cardboard, sand,...and even a small bronze medal with a profile of a bearded and mustachioed man (Lenin ??? profile) embedded in the rock of the landscape - it is not a coin but really medal.
The night scene takes place in a cove where a boat has run aground, with 2 articulated porcelain figures seemingly struggling to reach the shore. Great care given to the many details.
The glass plate below slides perfectly to access the work.
The irregularity of wooden rods used for the corners of the showcase perfectly shows that its author recovered the pieces of wood he could to constitute the base of this 3-dimensional showcase.
Perfect condition, which is the most surprising, and great freshness of the most diverse elements used.
