Pretty sculpture, elm or ash wood, featuring a child seated in reeds, the resting on a marine anchor, other on a mill wheel. Traditionally, it represents the young source of a river or river, and was to adorn top of a piece of furniture or harbour woodwork, the offices of a lock... beautiful object, the sculpture is a bit rustic, 19th century.
