Object description :

"Pair Of Empire Candlesticks In Sterling Silver, Restoration Period - Old Man Hallmark"
Rare pair of candlesticks / candlesticks and their solid silver bobeches from the Empire period - 1820s. Our candlesticks bear a VB monogram engraved in a coat of arms and the Vieillard hallmark in use between 1819 and 1838, the Paris guarantee hallmark, and the signature of the goldsmith Charles-Antoine-Armand LENGLET active in Paris between 1823 and 1843. He was the successor of Jean Pierre Nicolas Bibron, his establishment was soon one of the first in the capital. At an advanced age, in 1843, he sold it to the goldsmith Pierre François Augustin Turquet. Beautiful model with sober lines. Solid silver candlesticks are rare: we are used to finding pieces in silvered bronze rather than this precious material. They are an incomparable complement to adorn a party table or furnish a room. Excellent condition, no deformation, very clean and polished silver, without scratches. Height: 25.5cm Total weight: 633g
