Bronze statuette, recumbent statue of Saint Cecilia, 19th century
This statuette is a reproduction of the Martyrdom of Saint Cecilia made by Stefano Maderno in 1600, that in this sculpture faithfully depicted the posture of the martyr's corpse, found during excavations of restoration in the Church of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere, in 1599, where it is still kept nowadays.
Excellent condition, the statuette lays down a double layered marble pedestal, red and black.
