HIGH RELIEF STYLE RENAISSANCE MIDDLE AGES FRANCE/ITALY/ENGLAND HIGH RELIEF ON CHERRY WOOD ON FIR 19TH CENTURY Sculpture in high relief of a man in bust (notable/lawyer (judge)), looking angry; he appears to issue a sentence or engage in a plea. His hat, of a supple fabric, bonnet or even toque (raised edges) adorned with a feather, topped with a voluminous head with coarse and outrageous features, of a well-fed man (caricature?), whose top habit/dress falls in a skilful drape, a possible decoration on the left of his chest, at the height of the heart. The bust is in cherry wood while the support is in fir, very dry, old. It is an anonymous artist, from the middle of the 19th century; probably part of a neo-Renaissance piece of furniture.
