Italian Peasants With Their Animals By Andreas Marko

Oil on canvas depicting some Italian peasants with their herds next to a washhouse signed lower right Andreas MARKO (1824-1895) painter of Hungarian origin born in Vienna and who spent most of his life in Italy, especially in Florence where he painted but also taught the art of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts. He painted mainly landscapes and animal scenes and he was famous during  his lifetime. Original canvas without any restoration or accident and which has just been cleaned. It measures 76cm by 109. It is dated 1888. With the frame the painting measures 136cm wide by 106cm high. Nice frame in very good condition
