"Bust Of Marianne In Bronze - Early Twentieth"
Antique bust of Marianne, in gilded bronze, allegory of the French Republic, resting on a pedestal. This representation is adorned with a Phrygian cap with long ears, symbol of freedom, accessory of freed slaves. His gaze is cast to the side, the features of his face are reminiscent of Greco-Roman statues, by the roundness of his shapes and the straightness of his nose. He is surrounded by long hair, coming to rest on the left of his bare chest, a sign of the nursing mother and of emancipation.
