Charles-Edouard Armand-Dumaresq (1826-1895) French watercolourist, draftsman, painter and illustrator, mainly of military subjects. "Troop horse-Soldat in jacket" (Imperial Guard-Gendarmerie Squadron on horseback) Plate lithographed in colors belonging to the very rare series of 55 plates not put on the market published by Lemercier in Paris in 1858. It is a first-rate document for the description of the uniforms of the Imperial Guard of the French army in the second half of the reign of Napoleon lll. It was carried out under the direction of Major General Antoine-Charles-Félix Hecquet (1787-1872) according to the orders of the Minister of War. This lithographed plate, from the collection of Doctor Hutin in Epinal, bears the reference N° 55/55.
