"Philippe Thomire Cassolettes Vase Antique Bronze Marble Woman Aulos Griffon"
Rare and old pair of large cassolettes from the end of the 19th / beginning of the 20th century, in gilded/patinated bronze and verde-de-Mer marble, after the model by Pierre Philippe Thomire exhibited at the Louvres museum, richly decorated with three young women playing the aulos, the body terminated by an acanthus leaf, supported by three griffins with outstretched wings. Superb large model, topped with pinecone-shaped grip covers. A few chips on the marble, a restored lid, two flutes (aulos) brought back. All in good condition, see photos.
