Briard sideboard in oak from the beginning of the 18th century. The Brie region, and more particularly the town of Beton Bazoche, is the birthplace of the Briard buffet, also known as the Buffet Carré or support. This Briard sideboard is a good size, the lower crosspiece is decorated with a scallop shell. The uprights are at angled angles, or called "Cutaway". The top of the doors is carved with flower sheaves. Large drop handles are typical of these sideboards. Openwork iron entrances are large in size. The beeswax patina is warm and nuanced.
