"Elephant Liquor Cellar"
We present this liqueur cellar from the end of the 19th century, probably 1870/1880, represented by an elephant with its trunk in the air, in metal with remnants of gilding. On the back two small kegs which must have contained liquor with their taps and nine small glasses on either side and others suspended by their sockets. Unfortunately three glasses are missing on the back. All glassware including barrels are enamelled. The glassworks are intact, however note the lack of a stopper on a keg. This somewhat exceptional object was part of our curiosities collections until today. A handle on the back of the elephant allows this set to be moved. (E)
