Signed lower right Louis-Edmond Mettling (1847-1904) is a painter of genre, portraits, flowers. Belonging to the French school, he studied at the Beaux-Arts in Lyon, then at those in Paris with Alexandre Cabanel. Please note that the canvas is in good condition but needs to be cleaned. Visible at the Courcelles Antiquités Gallery, at 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
