BENITIER Curious holy water font, the frame is in wood sculpted with scrolls and flowers, the holy water receptacle is a scallop shell. In the center a representation of the Virgin surrounded by palm trees and holding the Child Jesus in her arms. The whole is protected by a curved glass. I don't know if it's carved bone or cast plaster or some other material. The wood makes me think of an 18th century work but I am absolutely not a specialist in this kind of object. Total height 19 cm, central scene: 7.5 x 6 cm
