"Perseus And Pegasus Large Group In Bronze"
Large bronze produced at the beginning of the 20th century (around 1905) by the Parisian Schmoll foundry located at the time at 64 rue de Turenne (at this same address was also the Houdebine foundry). Mythological subject representing Perseus and Pegasus bringing back the head of defeated Medusa... Signature E. Picault and cast stamp on the base, very good general condition, nuanced brown-green patina. A pupil of the painter Royer, Emile Louis Picault (1833/1922) distinguished himself in sculpture with allegories or scenes from mythology while advocating a patriotic sense. Exhibiting at the Salon from 1863 to 1909, many works by Picault are present in national museums.
