"Old Stone Fountain Dolphin Statue"
Old reconstituted stone fountain dolphin statue. This statue depicts a dolphin emerging from the waves, the rostrum open through which a jet of water can spring. The small ripples and splashes of the sea surface are realistic and well sculpted. The lips surrounding the rostrum are nicely hemmed. The eyes are also well represented. We even see his vent above his head, which allows him to “breathe”. Its dorsal fin as well as a pectoral fin are slightly rugged. This statue rests on its rectangular base in reconstituted stone, decorated on its 4 sides with stylized waves carved in low relief.
