"J. Mondean : "spanish At The Fountain""
J. Mondean: “Spaniard at the fountain”, oil on cardboard 41 X 33 cm, mounted in a ceruse oak frame 58 X 50 cm. Circa 1930. The cardboard being weakened by its age was lined with a neutral pH cardboard. The artist is unfortunately unknown, and yet, when we see this treatment between expressionism and post-cubism so mastered, we would like to see others! The flamboyance of this Spaniard's red blouse filling jugs at the fountain is a focal point around which the painting revolves.
