Old & authentic pendulum called "A la laitiere" Very beautiful model dating from the First Empire. Sculpture after drawings by Louis Croutelle (, 1765 Paris 1829), Matte and polished gilt bronze and brass and burnished bronze and brass. Subject depicting a young woman on horseback, with a whip, reins and a can of milk. Parisian movement striking the 1/2 hours on a bell. Golden mounts and applications representing a cow and two young women in the antique style churning butter and tasting milk. A similar model is present at the Louvre Museum in the Department of Works of Art from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and Modern Times. This clock is known in several horological books such as Pierre Kjellberg: Encyclopedia of the French pendulum etc., p. 433. Very good condition,
