"Hunting Cup - Europe / France"
Hunting cup formed of a half-coconut carved with floral motifs, two cornucopias and on the top of a cartouche engraved with a large flower, at the ends, an animal's head and 'a small plate holding a ring. Cut broken and glued, but the old restoration is practically invisible and does not alter the general appearance of this object at all. The beautiful patina that runs through this piece gives it a deep charm. Typical of the work of European sailors between the 18th and 19th centuries (harbour or convict work, for example)
