Watercolor by Gustave François Lasellaz, signed lower right, depicting a gallant scene in a country setting, under glass, under Marie-Louise, in a gilded wooden frame. Circa 1880. Dimensions at sight of the watercolor 22x28 cm Total dimensions, with frame, 39x44 cm. Gustave François Lasellaz (1848-1910), painter, watercolourist and especially painter of fan leaves renowned and whose rating remains at a good level, specialist in gallant scenes. He was a pupil of Lequien. He appeared at the Salon of French Artists in Paris, of which he became a member in 1883. He worked for Maison Rodien, fan maker rue Cambon in Paris, supplier to the Emperor. His works can be found in particular at the Palais Galliera in Paris, at the Musée de l'éventail in Paris, at the FIDM Museum in Los Angeles.
