Biography : Charles Suan is a painter of genre portraits and landscapes. 
Born in Saumur around 1810, he died around 1879. He was a student of Picot and made his debut at the Salon of 1836. Jean Pierre Epinal dedicated an exhibition to him in 2014 grouping 30 works including the painting of the Cantinière Joséphine Savarre known as Fifine exhibited at the Le Mans museum of Queen Berengaria.
