"Chaleil Or Oil Lamp, In Brass. Auvergne XIX."
The caleil or calelh is a typically regional oil lamp. It was found in iron or brass. A strip of metal (sometimes worked like this) supported two superimposed containers. The pentagonal, removable upper bucket carried five oil-soaked wick spouts. The lower cup collected the excess of the combustion. Once lit, the lamp was suspended by its harpoon stem. Good condition.
