"Inkwell Silver Metal Epoque 18th Century"
Beautiful office inkwell in silver metal with its three cups from the 18th century. Oblong tray scalloped with double nets and mounted on four ribbed arched feet. On the tray rest three receptacles including an inkwell and a sprinkler in the shape of a Medici vase; in the center a third circular receptacle. Very slight deformations at the base of the sprinkler. Each bucket has an ingenious fastening system: under the base two lugs fit into the two notches of a plate fixed to the plate, a quarter turn is enough to hold the bucket. Height of a bucket: 6.5 cm. The whole is in silvered brass, old re-silvering with scattered wear on the tray and the cups (see detailed photos), nevertheless very acceptable. Good stability, no restoration. Note: the rotating floral decoration of the sprinkler is treated in the same way as certain toilet sponge balls. Delivery: €10 for metropolitan France.
