Two oils on mahogany panels, waterside landscape Gilt frame. Colin Gustave Henri 1828 - 1910 Genre painter, landscapes Pupil of Dutilleux and Couture. He began in 1857 at the Salon with the portrait of the grandmother. He took part in the Salon des Refusés in 1863 with Joueuers de pelota. Then he exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon until the founding of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. He was from the beginning a member of the new artistic group where he exhibited landscapes and paintings from the Basque country and Spain. A general exhibition of his work took place at the Salon Nationale in 1906. He was an artist with a very marked realistic temperament whose canvases are remarkable both from the point of view of composition and from the point of view of colour.
