Object description :

"Bronze Of The Grand Tour, The Arrotino Or Scyte Flayer, Mid XIX Eme Century"
Superb bronze of the grand tour representing the arrotino or the skinner scyte.
Linked to mythology and the famous myth of Apollo and Marsyas, the scyte was a slave in the service of the god who had to skin Marsyas.
our bronze takes up the famous marble discovered in the 16th century and located in the Uffizi museum in Florence.
this bronze is superb in terms of casting and carving, look at the finesse of the details:
the face with the sideburns on the temples, the finesse of the mustache and the beard, but also the fingers of the hands as well as the toes.
the patina of slightly bronzed medal color is very well preserved and has a beautiful glaze.
very faithful to the original statue which is considered one of the most beautiful antique sculptures visible today, our bronze restores its original model with strength and beauty.
a very beautiful bronze from the middle of the 19th century, a very beautiful souvenir of the grand tour.
