Original pencil drawing by Frédéric SCHOPIN (1804-1880) Henri-Frédéric Schopin born June 12, 1804 in Lübeck (Holy Roman Empire) and died October 21, 1880 in Montigny-sur-Loing is a French painter. Born in Germany to French parents, Henri-Frédéric Schopin is the son of the sculptor Jean-Louis-Théodore Chopin and the brother of the polygraph Jean-Marie Chopin. He is a pupil of Antoine-Jean Gros. He won the Prix de Rome in painting in 1831 for Achille pursued by the Xanthe. He began at the Salon of 1835 with four works: The Last Moments of the Cenci (Museum of the Charterhouse of Douai), Charles IX signing the act of Saint-Barthélémy, A fountain in Albano and A young girl and her goat.
