"17th Century Box"
Today we present this small chest with complications in the ironwork system. In addition to the lid, which obviously lifts in the lower part, there is a concealed drawer which also hides a secret part. Admire through the photos all the ironwork. In the main part (the top) on each side we see a groove, there must have been a compartment on the left and one on the right. We were thinking of redoing the separations. This chest was certainly made to hide valuables, it is in solid walnut. We acquired it about thirty years ago and it was part of our company's unusual collections. We present it as we have acquired it, that is to say absolutely in its juice by using the jargon of our profession. (E)
