François-Désiré Pradier was a French sculptor born in 1790 and died in 1852. He is known for his bronze sculptures, which are considered examples of classical French art. His most famous works include the statue of George Sand, the Statue of Liberty for the city of Nîmes and the Statue of Athena for the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris. Pradier also worked for the French royal family and for many important figures in French society of his time. His works are valued for their technical skill and detailed depiction of human forms.
