Object description :

"Two Body Buffet From The Loire Valley In Solid Cherry - Eighteenth"
Elegant Buffet Two Corps in solid Blond Cherry from the Loire Valley region. It opens in the upper part - just like in the lower part - by 2 harmoniously cut doors, with knockouts. In the belt, it offers 3 drawers, the middle one being narrower than the other 2, all displaying the same decorations on the fronts as on the doors. The latter are adorned with authentic fittings and iron plugs. On the doors on the left, the two frames have similar motifs: hearts upstream, checkered decorations in the center, tassels which seem to hang from them. The locks, from the period, are in working order and the piece of furniture is supplied with its keys, barrel models with various and surprising shapes. The interiors are equipped, for the upper element, with 2 shelves 40 cm deep and for the lower part, with a larger one (56 cm) but edged in its length to constitute 2 blades. These shelves as well as the shelving of the cabinet have been redone in Oak. This sideboard is topped with a cornice with multiple moldings and cut out in the form of a 'Bat's Wing'. Beneath it, we will appreciate the sculptures of scrolls and flowers, on either side of a new checkerboard ornament. Its sides are paneled, its angles are canted with grooves, embellished at their ends by carved decorations. Its low crosspiece is also richly worked: added to its moldings are decorations of long-stemmed flowers decorating a vase with handles, thus recalling designs already admired above. This honey-coloured sideboard rests on 2 'Snail' legs at the front and 2 straight legs at the back. The 2 bodies that make it up can easily be disassembled from each other thanks to a simple system of reminder screws. ************ Period: 18th century Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
