Large Incense Burner In Chiseled Copper, Ht 53.5 Cm, Islamic Art, 19th Century, Superb Condition

Very beautiful large incense burner, 53.5 cm high, decorated on the whole body with calligraphy, braids, trellis, mandorlas, medallions, engraved with a chisel, by hand from the Middle East.
Type of objects that can be found transformed into a lamp, and often confused for this purpose
The finesse and quality of the carvings show the dexterity of the engraver of this piece from the 19th century.
Wide base in inverted calyx with a diameter of 20 cm supporting a potbellied body 25 cm in diameter, surmounted by a long ringed neck, ending vertically.
The body is wonderfully worked with braids, and many epigraphic decorations fill the spaces, followed by a beautiful caligraphy in nastaliq in a wide band.
Numerous braid friezes separate the decorations.
A true masterpiece of Islamic art   !!!
These marvelous coppers and brasses, were under the Muslim dynasties, an eminent alternative to silver and they enjoyed the same status.
The color whose symbolism is the easiest to understand is gold, its ties with the sun and gold have made it an emblem of divine power, perfection and majesty.
These objects have certainly lived as the centerpieces of homes and palaces.
