"Crossbow Commode In Solid Blond Walnut, Transition Period Louis XV / Louis XVI - XVIIIth"
Crossbow chest of drawers with top, fronts and sides in solid Blond Walnut, interiors, back and dust covers in Pine and White wood. It opens with three rows of drawers with eventful fronts cut in Accolade. We will also appreciate the frames with molded knockouts in Greek corners with which they are provided. Bronzes characteristic of the Transition Louis XV / Louis XVI style adorn these three drawers. Thus, each of them has two round pull handles with foliated and beaded decorations, and a keyhole, in the same metal and the same shape but with more modest carvings. The locks are original, the Bronzes and the three keys are later. The top of this chest of drawers with a Corbin spout is made of two Walnut planks: a first of 53 cm on the front, a second, less wide, of 17 cm on the back part. The sides are worked in flat molded bands whose angles are similar to those of the drawer fronts. We will also note the presence of sculptures on the visible uprights of this chest of drawers. The set rests on two smashed and winding front legs, and two more sober rear legs. We can see the quality of wood that makes up this dresser, little marked by its 240 years of history. ******** Period: 18th century, around 1780. Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
