"Important Sarrancolin Ilhet Marble Fireplace"
Important Sarrancolin Ilhet marble fireplace, Louis XIV style, carved at the beginning of the 20th century. This prestigious marble, exploited since Roman antiquity, presents a mixture of fragments of cream, yellow, pink, gray and greenish colors. Red veining and white calcite enliven its surface. Its fame was forged thanks to the numerous royal orders, in particular those of Louis XIV for the Palace of Versailles. Its top, like its band with projections, is slightly curved, its upper focus line is traversed by a generous torus, its uprights are embellished with a chapel reserve and rudented channels. It should be noted an old restoration of its tray visible on our penultimate photo. Its body length is 160 cm. The dimensions of its hearth are 101 cm wide and 90 cm high.
