"Bronze Temple Wall Lamp India 18th / 19th Century"
Hindu temple devotional plaque, it features the four-armed god Virabhadra holding: a shield, a bow, a sword and a dagger, the goddess Bhadra Kali is depicted at his left and Daska the ram-headed god at his right side , in the posture of submission and prayer. On the top the serpent Nagã symbol of prosperity sits on the head of a protective demon. Bronze or brass, old marks of time and use, posterior welding, consolidation at the back of the snake.
