"Small Walnut Sideboard, Marble Top, Louis XV Period"
Rare small walnut sideboard with marble top. Model with a flared shape on the back, with sinuous sides and sinuous doors. the front uprights are rounded, molded, finished with arched feet. The sides are sinuous, paneled, with small moldings. The doors are sinuous with panels "in chapel" without visible low crosspiece, and with the same fine molding. Superb period marble, very thick, very well molded: corbin beak and lower cavetto: Languedoc red. (restorations on the feet) Very probably Parisian work from the second half of the 18th century (sobriety of the model combined with a very beautiful marble, quality of the blond walnut, absence of low crosspiece, fine molding of the panels characteristic of this Parisian furniture placed in the first pantry, with the same use as the "hunting" buffet.
