Pair of sculptures in high relief "lion's muzzles" from the Louis XIV period. Cut and sculpted in blocks of yellow sandstone from Alsace, probably to decorate the facade of the chateau. Fine and vigorous sculpture. The open mouths reveal the fangs of the felines. The two heads are different in expression; Is it two lions or a lion and a lioness?
