Schneider, Large Vase With Decor
Rare in this size, large vase with "Thorns" decoration in pink, yellow, orange powdered glass with green speckles, blown in a wrought iron frame with a flat foot surmounted by a ring. The wrought iron frames were made by a special workshop within the Schneider factory. The colorings of the glassworks roughly correspond to those of Jades or Marbles. In the "Epines" vases, Schneider took advantage of the opposition between iron and glass. A mount with 4 stems where branching thorns force the molten blown glass to take on a tortured form, embellished by the rhythm of the thorns embellished with small hammered balls, gilded when hot. Signature Schneider Period 1923/25 Height: 51 cm Diameter: 23.8 cm This model also exists in 34 and 42 cm high.
