"Bronze"
Important bronze sculpture with brown patina representing a young woman harvester returning from work in the fields. This work is large in size and carved on all sides. It offers a 360 degree view, allowing a presentation on a column. The quality of the chasing is superior as well as that of the original brown patina. It is signed hollow on the terrace and completed by the round hollow stamp of the founder "B.COTTIN ET FILS PARIS"; This statue was donated to the Société d'Agriculture de l'Orne following the death of its President in 1928. Ernest RANCOULET (1842-1918) was born in Bordeaux in 1842 and died in 1918. He was a pupil of Lequesne and appeared at the Salon from 1870 to 1876. (ref: Benezit.
