Genre scenes, military subjects, orientalism Pupil of Léon Cogniet (1794-1880), he exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1833 and 1866. His paintings depict military subjects: Napoleon III's dragoons in battle or in review, Conquest of Algeria... He also produces hunting scenes of the French aristocracy. His work mainly depicts horsemen.
