"Fetish - Yoka / Democratic Republic Of Congo"
This very atypical fetish in its attire has great strength in its facial expression, highlighting the craftsman's mastery of craftsmanship. The old wood and the fabrics testify to the devotion that was brought to this object. The body of the fetish is surrounded by several small loads wrapped in fabric. These fillers have, according to tradition, numerous prophylactic virtues. Note also the cauris adorning the head of the fetish. A charge is also placed in the center of the belly of the statuette which gives it a slight aura of mystery and occultism.
