FREE SHIPPING FOR FRANCE! Hand-knotted Na'in rug in Kork wool and silk, Iran, circa 1970 in perfect condition, measuring 120 cm wide by 210 cm long.
The Na'in are considered to be the finest knotted carpets in the art of current knotting, their place of manufacture, east of Isfahan, made them considered among the Khorassan types while representing a group apart.
They are of a tight knot and are therefore very resistant. The ornamentation of these marvelous carpets, used delicate arabesques medallioned with sometimes vases in added elements or marvelous and ingenious compositions of arabesques with flowers and boteh motifs full of elk.
The Na'in resembles the Ispahan stylistically in the balance of colors and the delicate articulation of the designs apart from the colors used.
The shades commonly used are blues and blacks placed on cream or white backgrounds (our model) sometimes combining straw yellow but also more rarely deep red.
The thin basic knotting uses silk, fine wool and cotton in densities ranging between 500,000 and 900,000 knots per M2.
Our model is no exception to these rules and offers us a magnificent quality piece, a beautiful size medallion accompanied by very present borders in the decor in the Persian style and taste.
The blues usually used are found on the cupolas of the mosques of ancient Persia and Central Asia.
Kork wool is the softest wool taken from under the neck and belly of lambs at the first shearing which makes rugs soft to the touch.
This rug has been professionally and environmentally cleaned.
