"Library Cabinet In Cherry, Louis-philippe Style - Late Nineteenth"
This solid cherry bookcase opens with two glazed doors with mitred frames on the front and shoulders on the back (19th century work). In the lower part, each door is dark with a panel over about a third of its height. A cove molding highlights the glazed and paneled parts. The two doors are closed with a molded joint cover and are equipped with wooden entrances with original functional lock accompanied by its key. The interior is lined with four thick shelves, healthy and without deformation, adjustable at will since placed on cleats and racks. This library is topped by a slightly projecting ogee cornice. The sides of this piece of furniture are made up of two panels with crosspieces pegged at the top, in the middle and at the bottom. The front uprights, with canted sides, rest on a plinth which ends in scrolled feet. The back of the cabinet is in chestnut. This bookcase will please you, among other things, for its sobriety and the brilliance of its patina.
